This Week’s Featured Interview:

Carmen Valdez, HEAL Utah
  • Healthy Environment Alliance of Utah, or HEAL Utah, has been a grassroots advocacy organization based in Utah for over 26 years. Carmen Valdez, HEAL’s Radioactive and Toxic Program Manager, focuses on the legacy radioactive issues to the present and future threats to our health. While supporting the Radiation Exposure Compensation Act and fighting to expand the program to include all of Utah and other previously excluded communities, HEAL also actively monitors and fights against nuclear threats such as proposed reactors, test sites, uranium mining, milling, and processing, and the dumping of high-level radioactive waste in the state.
