NH #7: San Luis Obispo Mothers for Peace file an important challenge to the NRC’s relicensing of Diablo Canyon Nuclear Reactor

Last Monday, I had the honor and priviledge of meeting up with several members of San Luis Obispo’s Mothers for Peace (MFP), a focused, brilliant, powerhouse force for a sane, nuclear-free world.  Today, I receive an email with their latest news: a filing to challenge the NRC’s relicensing of Diablo Canyon based on information gathered in the wake of the ongoing Fukushima nuclear tragedy.

They included a big-picture press release about the actions by all 26 intervenors that filed on the same day.  Each filing is different in order to reflect the specifics of the given plant. The bulk of the legal work was done by Diane Curran, who is the attorney for MFP and also for many of the other intervenors.  Here’s the link: http://mothersforpeace.org/data/2011/2011-26-groups-including-mothers-for-peace-call-on-the-nrc-to-delay-or-cancel-reactor-licensing-due-to-existing-federal-law
